Dr. Seaman's research interests include a number of active agricultural and environmental research areas: the land application of animal waste and coal combustion by-products; solute and contaminant transport modeling; reclamation of Cr(VI) contaminated aquifers and soils; in situ contaminant immobilization; and the physicochemical factors controlling heavy metal and radionuclide adsorption/migration, including colloid-facilitated transport of contaminants in soil and groundwater. His research focuses on discerning the physico-chemical processes controlling solute and colloid migration within soil and groundwater environments, with ongoing studies that span the range of investigation from the molecular to the field scale.
