Charles E. Davis
Savannah River Ecology Laboratory Areas of expertise: Natural resource management, GIS applications, database management and research, ecological risk assessment, DOE Set-Aside Program coordinator For the past 28 years I have been employed in the field of forest ecology research and natural resource management on the Savannah River Site. Much of my present work involves GIS and database management in support of environmental risk assessments conducted by Westinghouse Savannah River (WSRC), although natural resource management is also an important component of my work. I coordinate research for SREL’s long-term study sites, manage the DOE Set-Aside Research Areas, and work closely with the other resource management agencies on the SRS, serving as SREL’s representative to USFS-Savannah River and SCDNR. I also serve on SRS site-wide committees where land use coordinating policies are determined and have presented at various policy and planning meetings. As SREL research staff, my strengths are my extensive knowledge of the SRS and long-term history with ecological research and natural resource management on the SRS. |
